The Central Bank of Uganda is 100% owned by the Government of Uganda, but is not a government department. Although it conducts it's activities in close association with the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED), the bank is autonomous body responsible for monetary policy and maintaining price stability.
