Before joining the firm, he spent seven years at Salomon Brothers, starting in systems and then working on the Government desk. An employee since 1999, he was the senior emerging markets debt strategist at Lehman Brothers where he was responsible for sovereign risk analysis and asset recommendations. He also ran a dedicated emerging markets model portfolio. Before his tenure at Lehman, he held a similar position with the Chase Manhattan Bank from 1993 to 1997. He has been involved in a number of sovereign debt restructurings, and among a number of capital markets transactions, worked closely on the 1996 Mexican Brady exchange. Paul holds dual degrees in international economics and international studies from the George Washington University (B.A.)/Johns Hopkins University (M.A.). |
